The diploma thesis entitled Application of reading strategies in the development of reading literacy in the 3rd - 4th year of primary school deals with the application of reading strategies through created worksheets. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is focused on defining functional literacy, reading literacy and working with reading strategies. The practical part is focused on the creation of worksheets with the application of reading strategies and a focus on reading comprehension for pupils in the 3rd - 4th grades of elementary school.
Methods of critical thinking in literary education at elementary schoool

The thesis deals with methods of critical thinking in the teaching of literary education at the 1st level of elementary school. The work is divided into three parts - theoretical, practical and research. The theoretical section defines the concept of literary education and characterizes it in the current RVP ZV. It also explains and classifies concepts such as teaching methods and organisational forms. It defines the concepts of critical thinking and the three-phase model of learning E-U-R. The practical part deals with preparations for individual hours using selected methods of critical thinking. The research section maps, based on a questionnaire to teachers, the use of critical thinking methods in teaching reading and literary education in 2. - 5th year of high school.
Working with educational literature in Kindergarten

The focus of this master's thesis is the methodological development and implementation of four thematically focused weekly lessons, using educational literature in a preschool setting. The objective is to motivate children's interest in educational books and in acquiring new knowledge through books. The thesis presents an integrative model of reading pre-literacy in relation to educational literature, by interconnecting all the components of a child's activities in a preschool setting, applying critical-thinking methods in a three-phase learning framework (E-R-R - Evocation, Realization of Meaning, Reflection), and using reading strategies designed to enhance the experience of learning from educational books. The theoretical section is concerned with reading literacy. It focuses on reading pre-literacy and an integrative model of reading pre-literacy in relation to educational literature, the importance of exposure to books in preschool, the use of critical thinking methods and reading strategies, the use of educational books, and characteristics of the preschool child when working with educational literature. Beginning of a literary education lesson according to principles of the constructivist teaching

The diploma thesis deals with an issue of a teaching process initiation in a literary education. The aim of the thesis is to prove that applying a constructivist approach to the lesson structure arouses pupils' and students' interest, activity and motivation to learn and it also supports the learning process and critical thinking. The thesis verifies a positive effect in using of the E-U-R learning model based on studying scientific literature and author's pedagogical experience. More specifically, the thesis focuses on the first phase, evocation. It presents the criteria and methods of realization and it suggests the possible content of evocation. In the practical part, the author verifies these findings on six lessons. The reflections prove that effective evocation supports the learning process.

The research part is based on a survey and it focuses on practical use of teacing methods of Czech language lessons from 6th to 9th grade of primary schools.
